Understanding Cross-Contamination

Cross-contamination continues to be a significant issue in food safety. I recently discovered that many workers underestimate the risks associated with using the same cutting boards for raw meat and vegetables. I’d love to hear how others are enforcing hygiene protocols in their kitchens to prevent this.

One thing that really helped us was having separate color-coded cutting boards for meat and veggies. It sounds simple, but it made a big difference in reducing cross-contamination. @originalposter, have you tried that in your kitchen?

I’ve found that using plastic bins to separate raw meats and veggies during prep really helps too. It keeps things organized and visibly reminds everyone to avoid cross-contamination. Plus, it’s cost-effective and easy to wash.

Using separate utensils for raw meats and veggies can make a huge difference too. It sounds basic, but it’s easy to forget in the rush. Have you noticed a difference with your current methods?
