Shade vs sun: which sells more

But parked my taco truck in the only shaded slot by 3rd & Main from 11–2 and Square shows a 17% jump in tickets over last Thursday in full sun — same menu, same ad spend. Trivia or trend: do your mobile kitchens see shade acting like free marketing?

But did the same ‘same menu, same ad spend’ test and Square showed about a 15% ticket bump when we parked in shade 11–2; the one tweak that made it stick was a $30 clamp-on misting fan aimed at the order window so the line doesn’t bail. Feels like a trend when it’s 85°F+; on mild days it washes out — have you tried a fan or a quick shade sail when 3rd & Main is full sun?

Seeing the same 11–2 bump, but I think half of it’s speed: in full sun our iPad/Square overheats, checkout lags, and a few people bail. Quick fix was a reflective POS hood plus a tiny clip fan; tickets per hour climbed even when the truck isn’t fully shaded. You getting any “device too hot” prompts or longer per-ticket times on those sunny Thursdays, @jacthom?
